The amount of ball marks on greens has increased dramatically since golf carts were introduced.
Golfers typically drive to the rear or side of the green instead of walking to their ball mark and repairing it as they approach their ball.

The original intent of the governors at Baker Hill was to hopefully build a golf course where everyone would be encouraged to walk. Our terrain does offer opportunity to create a strikingly beautiful golf course. It also offers more opportunities to ride a golf cart. Many people would be discouraged to play difficult courses had it not been for the advent of the golf cart. The fact is carts have helped many people enjoy the game of golf....period.
Golf cart traffic has also severely impacted the health of turf root zones. Soils are easily compacted especially when wet. Our cart path system at Baker Hill was designed to double as a "Service Route" for maintenance vehicle use. There are cart lanes that pass by every green and tee site on the course because that is where all traffic is concentrated. We feel that cart traffic at Baker Hill is light enough to have as few restrictions as possible. Signs and ropes are used for safety and to preserve your investment. Please adhere to all course direction information at all times.

Whoops! I forgot to apply the parking brake!
Whenever a cart path is available, please keep all four wheels on the path.
