What are the outstanding features of the golf course?

The course is challenging yet fair. It is a "strategic" rather than a "target" golf course, which follows the natural contours of the land. Rees Jones believes in allowing the golfer to see the intended target and visualize the shot. He has designed the course so that there are no blind shots and no hidden obstacles. The course has eight different tees to accommodate golfers of varying skills. The novice will find the course to be extremely playable and enjoyable, while the low handicap player will find it a true test of golf.

Can beginner golfers join the club?

Yes. Beginners are very welcome. The club has 8 sets of tees ranging from 4,357 yards to 7,170 yards.  We have 4 teaching Professionals.  We also offer weekly clinics during the summer for beginners and for those who are returning to the game after a long layoff.

Did you know?

Baker Hill is named after Benjamin Baker. The original farmhouse, outbuildings, and barns trace their origins back to the eighteenth century. Benjamin Baker, a Revolutionary War hero who fought at Bunker Hill, was one of the earliest settlers in the area. He constructed three barns on the property in the 1780s. Some of the original building materials, including rustic beams, are incorporated into the permanent structures of the Pro Shop and cabin.

How does one become a member?

The membership process starts with an interested candidate completing a member application, followed by an interview with the Membership Committee and an introduction (if the candidate is not acquainted with other members) to a number of members who can act as sponsors. After two letters of recommendation are submitted to the club, the Membership Committee votes to forward the candidate's name to the Board for final acceptance to membership.
